Think Academy Year-Round Math Course for Kindergarten Students – ThinkAbility Series Spring Semester
Think Academy recognizes that the kindergarten year is a critical period for children to develop the core abilities that pave the way for a prosperous future in math. Therefore, the ThinkAbility Series is designed as a year-round math course specifically for kindergarteners, aiming to foster children’s abilities, interests, and thinking that will allow them to progress quickly in the subject of Mathematics.
7 Abilities
To ensure a well-round success, ThinkAbility Series strives to cultivate 7 abilities that are crucial for children’s learning: 4 necessary learning abilities (attention, insight, memory, hands-on ability) and 3 core math abilities (number sense, logical reasoning, spatial cognition).
By the end of the spring semester, students in kindergarten will be able to:
• Solve addition and subtraction problems with carry-over & borrowing and master regrouping methods.
• Tackle real life math problems including time, money, calendar dates, etc.
• Understand the attributes of basic 2-D and 3-D shapes and the cutting of graphics through hands-on operation.
• Build up the sense of “counting in order.”
ThinkAbility Series Spring Number Sense Course Details
Total Classes: 6 lessons for Number Sense
Total Cost: $33/lesson, $199 for all lessons (including learning manipulatives toolbox)
Class Size: up to 12 children
Class Duration: 60 minutes
