Is your child working their way to becoming the ultimate math competition winner? Then sign them up for Think Academy’s MCTP Course.

Our MCTP (Math Competition Talent Program), is a training team for U.S. students who have outstanding math skills. In this program, we’ll train students and teach them everything they need to know to place a high score on the AIME and USA(J)MO.

Who is Think Academy’s MCTP Course suitable for?

In order to join Think Academy’s MCTP, students need to have scored 90 points or higher on the AMC 10, or the equivalence. Next to passing this requirement, the MCTP is also looking for students who like to think independently about mathematics, are diligent in asking questions, work hard, and have a deep passion for math.

In this year-round program, there are 50 classes throughout the year, totaling 150 class hours. In addition to our classes, Think Academy’s MCTP also provides hands-on learning, guidance, and study discussions.

MCTP’s Learning Outcomes:

By the end of our MCTP, students will have:

  • An in-depth understanding of algebra, geometry, number theory, combinatorics, and other common subjects covered in secondary school math competitions and college courses.
  • Strong mathematical literacy and a well-rounded foundation for future math competitions.
  • A greater chance to place a higher score on the AMC 10 or AIME.

Class Preparation Tips:

The topic is difficult and there’s a lot of curriculum and concepts to cover. Therefore, we highly encourage students to use all the resources we provide to study before class.

Every class is broadcasted live on Zoom has a class-playback video. We also provide the class blackboard writing after class for students to review.

In order to get the most out of the MCTP. Think Academy highly encourages students to study their notes before the class, search, and ask questions in advance, go to class with goals, stay focused, and take initiative with their own learning.

Student Prize

All MCTP students have the chance of winning a cash prize if they achieve a high score in 2022 AMC 10 or become AIMEE qualified. Below are the qualifications MCTP students must meet in order to receive our student prize:

For 2022 AMC 10:

  • 135+: $1500
  • 125-135: $800
  • 115 – 125: $300

For AIMEE Qualified Students

  • $100

For this course, every incoming MCTP student must pass an online exam. If they pass the exam, they will then move onto an interview.  In our online exam and interview, we evaluate a student’s learning habits and abilities to see if they are ready for this course.

To uphold the highest teaching quality, we will only accept 16 students. During our selection process, we adhere to the principle of “a child’s potential is greater than a learning level”.  In some cases, we’ll accept a child who has the most potential to make a huge learning improvement in 1-2 years over a child who knows enough to fully understand the teaching curriculum.

Yixian

I have loved mathematics since childhood and won the honor of national competition many times. I completed my undergraduate major in mathematics, and postgraduate major in statistics. In the past ten years, I’ve conducted in-depth research on global mathematics competitions, and my teaching methods are described as flexible and changeable, which is deeply loved by my students.
