In this December Think Academy Course, we’ll spend time reviewing some of the key topics covered in the AMC 10.

What is the AMC 10:

AMC 10 is a nationally recognized math competition. It’s a 75-minute exam with 25 multiple-choice questions that evaluate participants’ knowledge of high school mathematics. It’s designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills.

For students in the 10th grade and below, the AMC 10 covers high school math curriculum up to the 10th grade. The AMC 10 is also the first in a series of math competitions that students must take in order to compete in the International Mathematical Olympiad.

If your child isn’t interested in the math competition route but is still passionate about math, we still encourage them to participate in the AMC 10. This math competition is a great tool that helps students form a passion for analytical thinking and math. It’s also a standout extracurricular on college applications.

Think Academy’s AMC 10 Short-Term Syllabus Topic:

In Think Academy’s AMC 10 course, we’ll focus on 4 major topics:

Algebra: Sequences, equations, polynomials, functions, and gaussian Notations

Geometry: Triangles, quadrilaterals, circles, and transformations

Number theory: Divisibility, congruence, and unique factorization theorem

Combinatorics: Counting principles, principle of inclusion and exclusion, probability, and game strategies

All of these subjects are on the AMC 10, and a majority of them are not usually taught in Common Core math.

Other AMC 10 Short-Term Course Learning Outcomes:

By the end of our AMC 10 Course, students will:

• Review and solve past AMC 10 questions
• Absorb new math learning skills
• Learn new test prep techniques
• Develop a concrete understanding of the math subjects covered in all secondary math contests and college courses

• Tuesdays, December 8^th, December 15th, December 22nd, & December 29^th, 2: 00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. PST
• Saturdays, December 12^th, December 19th, January 2nd, & January 9^th, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. PST

Grades: Below 10

Price: $100 / per class, 4 classes total, the total class package is $400.

Class platform: Zoom with a playback video for every class

Refund Policy: If you are not satisfied with the class teaching, you can request a refund at any time. The refund amount will be according to the proportion of the classes your child has taken after the class starts.
