The Rabbit Problem: By Emily Gravett

The first novel on this list of best math learning books is titled The Rabbit Problem. This is a super fun book to get your child excited about counting! Throughout the story of The Rabbit Problem, they will learn about how small numbers can add up to bigger numbers very quickly. The book also introduces the concept of the Fibonacci sequence which is a series of numbers in which each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers.

Overall, the artwork of the book is very colorful and the use of rabbits to make math connections is great for peaking the curiosity of children.

The Boy Who Loved Math: The Improbable Life of Paul Erdos: Written by Deborah Heiligman and illustrated by LeUyen Pham

This book is perfect for showing your child the true beauty of math and what the subject has to offer. One of the book’s main narratives revolves around the fact that math is not about the volume of problems that a person solves. Instead, it is about how you use mathematics to positively affect the people around you and make their lives better.

Reading this book to your child will help them understand how valuable math is and how they too can utilize it to be a hero and help society!

What’s Your Angle, Pythagoras?: Written by Julie Ellis and illustrated by Phyllis Hornung

Although this book was designed for middle school students, it can also be helpful for high school students as well. The book is filled with geometry references and even teaches the reader about how the Pythagorean theorem works! During multiple parts of the story, Pythagoras uses the Pythagorean theorem in real-world scenarios in order to solve problems.

In summary, this book is both an entertaining and engaging way to improve your child’s geometry skills through storytelling rather than practice worksheets.

Infinity and Me: Written by Kate Hosford and illustrated by Gabi Swiatkowska

If you could not already tell by the title, the overarching theme of this book is about the topic of infinity. For some children, it is hard to grasp the concept of a number that never ends. That is perfectly okay! As long as they are exploring the meaning of infinity and trying their best to apply it to real-life situations. That is a positive step in the right direction and a goal that this book can help achieve.

Through its beautiful and slightly vintage art style, Infinity and Me will allow your child to become curious about this math phenomenon and have fun with it in the process!

Sir Cumference and the First Round Table: A Math Adventure: Written by Cindy Neuschwander and illustrated by Wayne Geehan

This book will teach your child all about shapes and how to piece them together to create new ones. In addition, it introduces the concept of circumference through its consistent references of circles.

As a whole, the book contains a very humorous storyline and is another great resource to assist your child with their basic geometry skills.
