Through his hands-on teaching approach, Dennis Wang is able to help students discover the sphere of mathematics and problem solving 

Meet Dennis Wang, another one of Think Academy’s passionate and patient math teachers! We believe that all of our educators are excellent at developing young students into successful math experts. In addition, it is easy to see how hard they work on their course development, teaching style, and teamwork day in and day out. In this teacher profile, we are going to talk about Dennis’ academic achievements, teaching experience, and classes that he instructs. 

Dennis Wang: Educational Background and Achievements 

Dennis attended Duke University, a private research institution located in Durham, North Carolina. While at Duke University, he earned his Master’s Degree in Qualitative Financial Economics. In addition, Dennis received perfect scores on the SAT math section, SAT subject test Math 2, AP Calculus BC exam, and the GRE Quantitative section.

With a deep understanding of mathematics and a passion for education, Dennis chose to join the math teaching team at Think Academy after finishing graduate school. As a math teacher at Think Academy, he strives to showcase the beauty of math and urge his students to explore the realm of mathematics and problem solving.

Furthermore, Dennis believes that mathematics has a tremendous amount of potential to be applied to and utilized in many other STEM related subjects. Because of this, he encourages his students to remain open-minded and use real-life examples to illustrate math questions. In regards to his teaching style, Dennis is a hands-on teacher who enjoys being more active while in front of the classroom. 

Classes Dennis Wang Teaches

This fall, Dennis will be one of the teachers for Think Academy’s long-term Algebra 1B mastery level classes! These courses are perfect for students in grades 6-8 who are looking to become experts on the topic of algebra. Each class section consists of 15 two-hour lessons that will begin in late August and run until mid December. 

Think Academy students have gone on to find success at high level math competitions such as first place Math Kangaroo performances and earning Distinguished Honor Roll at the AMC 8!

As a reminder, if you would like to register for one of our long-term courses. Make sure to schedule a free 1-on-1 evaluation if you have not already! Think Academy’s 1-on-1 evaluation contains an overview of our mission and academic structure, a 15-question evaluation exam, a one hour in-depth analysis, and a 15-minute teacher-to-parent discussion.
