Have your child find the beauty of math with these amazing April short-term courses!

This month, Think Academy is proud to announce that it will be debuting several brand new April short-term courses for students! We will have courses available for students in kindergarten through middle school. Overall, the main goal of these April short-term courses is to provide students with the best learning experience possible and help them fall in love with the subject of math. In this article, you will learn all about the structure of these new courses and what they have to offer! 

What’s New?

Students enrolled in the kindergarten through grade 4 classes will receive their own personal math kit! These math kits will help make the material that they are learning even more fun and engaging. 

In addition, for the grade 1 through middle school classes, we will be introducing the large class Think Academy classroom platform. This platform was created to both increase the learning environment quality for the students and teaching environment quality for the instructors. 

Lastly, to further ensure that the students and parents have the resources they need. All of the grade 1 through middle school short-term classes will have a content teacher and local teacher. The content teacher will be responsible for preparing the class and carrying out the lesson plan while the local teacher’s job will be contacting parents and following up with students.

Class Information 

Kindergarten: ThinkAbility Series Spatial Cognition 

ThinkAbility Series: Spatial Cognition is a great hands-on math course for kindergartners who are looking to develop an interest for math and a motivation to learn! The class will teach students everything they need to know about spatial cognition. Although some of the problems will be challenging, our teachers will make the learning experience fun and positive!

Grade 1: Math is Fun 

Any student who wants to have a fun math journey is encouraged to take this class! This course is designed to boost students’ logical thinking, spatial imagination, and power of reasoning skills.

Grades 2-3: Number & Operations Workshop

Think Academy’s Number & Operations Workshop is designed to help students with their calculation skills and provide them with tricks on how to quickly solve addition and multiplication problems! After taking this class, students will have an enhanced number & operations ability, an increased sensitivity with numbers, and a familiarity with multiple ways to do quick and accurate calculations.

Grade 4: Hands on Math 

This course will help students learn how to use math with their hands and both find and generalize patterns. In addition, our Hands on Math short-term class will exercise children’s logical reasoning skills and ability to extract key information from math problems. Students who are not currently enrolled in one of our long-term courses are also highly encouraged to register for this class!

Grades 5-Middle School: Permutation and Combination 101

Permutation and Combination 101 is the perfect course for students interested in contest math, AMC 8, and high level math competitions in general. After completing this class, students will not only acquire a basic understanding of permutation and combination models. They will also be able to solve difficult AMC 8 combination problems! Overall, this course is a must for students who want to better their results at math competitions.
