Give your child the tools to succeed at high-level math competitions by signing up for a Think Academy ACE class!

What is the Think Academy ACE class?

ACE is the highest level long-term course at Think Academy and the community for outstanding students. It aims to provide a suitable learning platform for students who have excellent mathematical thinking abilities and whose fundamental skills are significantly ahead of regular school standards.

ACE level courses are more challenging and in-depth. The content focuses on advanced problem-solving and cognitive training. This is so students can expand their mathematical vision, deepen their mathematical thinking, stimulate their mathematical perception and speculative ability, and make academic breakthroughs and improvements.

ACE classes aim to prepare students for high-level mathematical competitions such as Math Kangaroo, AMC 8, AIME, and so on. These classes also set students up to join the Think Academy training team.

Students in ACE level classes have a solid foundation in mathematics, logical thinking, and possess a strong learning ability. In addition, they also have strong study habits, good communication, and are full of enthusiasm for mathematics! If your child has the following characteristics, come join the Think Academy ACE class!

If your child enrolls in our ACE level class, you could expect:

Elementary school:

By the end of fifth grade, your child will have the ability to move on to the next level of math competitions. They will also be able to compete at the AMC 8 and receive Honor Roll or even Distinguished Honor Roll recognitions. These achievements will help them build momentum for future school applications!

Middle school:

The ACE system is a four-year mathematics competition preparation system that provides the most professional and comprehensive middle school competition training in the United States. Goals for ACE students are to not only receive excellent results on the AIME exam but to also qualify for the USAJMO competition. 

How to sign-up for the ACE Placement Exam

Step 1: ACE Webinar

Time: March 7th at 7p.m. Pacific Standard Time

During the webinar, an ACE instructor will answer the questions below in detail.

  • What is the advantage of studying at the ACE level?
  • Will the student match the difficulty level of ACE classes?
  • What kind of student is a good fit for ACE classes?
  • What is the destination for ACE students?

Step 2: Written Exam

Exam Date: March 13th- March 14th

Exam will cover: 

  • I-school fundamental skills. 涵盖课内基础知识点
  • Medium level math contest questions and also some high level challenging math contest problems.  中等竞赛难度

Format of exam: 

  • Google Form online exam
  • Multiple choice and fill in the blank only
  • Number of problems will vary depending on grade 

Exam Length: 45 minutes

The exam link will be sent via email to the register’s email address. If the student passes the written exam, a Think Academy teacher will contact the parent with either a phone call or through WeChat to schedule a 1-on-1 evaluation before March 15th. 

Step 3: 1-on-1 Evaluation

Exam Time: 40 minutes

Exam Platform: The evaluation will be held on zoom and the instructor will send the Zoom ID prior to the meeting.

Format of exam:

20 minutes prior to the evaluation, parents will receive a demo video that contains a solution to a challenging problem. After the video, a similar problem will be given during the evaluation that will require the student to solve on their own. 

In addition, students will randomly pick three questions to solve and explain their thought process regarding how they found the solution. The 1-on-1 evaluation will comprehensively examine the child’s basic knowledge, thinking ability, reaction speed, and expression skills. Lastly, there will be a 10-minute communication session with the parents. You can register for the 1-on-1 evaluation here.
